Expansion of the product range

The product range of “Chemische Fabrik Friedrich Menzer” gradually expands. In addition to the jewelry industry, customers in other metalworking companies are now also among the buyers.

The quality of the compounds and the flexibility of individual polishing solutions attracted customers from Germany and Europe to the Baden-based company.

Internationalization and scientific work

Under the leadership of owner and chemist Dr. Walter Burkart, scientific methods are introduced into product development and application technology. In addition to polishing compounds, machines for barrel polishing small parts are now also built and sold. As the automation of polishing becomes widespread, Menzerna is one of the first suppliers of liquid polishing compounds in Germany. Products for the treatment of painted surfaces account for an increasingly large proportion of sales. Menzerna now operates globally and exports more than half of its production.

Globally active industrial SME

After a transitional phase, a partner joins the management again. The fourth generation since the purchase of the company by Ludwig Burkart in the 1920s thus takes over responsibility. Menzerna transforms itself from a large craft business into a modern and powerful industrial company.

The site is relocated to Ötigheim in the district of Rastatt, production facilities are modernized, processes are reorganized and automated and the laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art measuring and preparation technology. The business with polishes for automotive clearcoats is transformed from its humble beginnings into a mainstay of the business. Today, Menzerna is a typical representative of an innovative and globally operating medium-sized industrial company. Backed by a century of experience, we use state-of-the-art methods to develop and produce high-quality polishes for the most demanding customers there are: Professionals in industry and trade.
